LysistrataBy Aristophanes |

Produced: Spring, 1974 An early struggle with design. I was very proud of it at the time. I had tried to suggest the Acropolis through comic visual expression. The women stood on a platform behind the columns, putting them well above. "Peace" used the little stage next to the Acropolis entrance, a show window of sorts. In the picture is an invention of a Greek cot, brought out for the seduction. The sketch is transparent watercolor lined in ink (ugh). I think this was my third produced design. The high platform behind the cot was never used. This is when I learned that you have to give a director two ways up and down from anything. |
